Privacy Policy

KK Inc. (“KK”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a company based in Yokohama, Japan. We operate Agatha, a Shopify app that helps merchants generate review-ready SEO blog drafts inside Shopify.

We take privacy and security seriously and are bound by Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information when merchants install or use Agatha.

Information We Access

When a merchant installs or uses Agatha, we may access information necessary to provide the app, including:

• Basic Shopify store information, such as shop domain and store identity.
• Blog-related data needed to create and save Shopify Blog drafts.
• Article titles, keywords, prompts, or other text entered by the merchant.
• Generated blog draft content, metadata, excerpts, FAQs, and schema-ready content.
• App usage records, job status, billing status, and operational logs needed to run and support the app.

Agatha is designed for blog draft generation. It is not designed to process customer orders, payment card data, or sensitive customer information as part of its core function.

How We Use Information

We use information only for purposes related to operating Agatha, including:

• Authenticating merchants and connecting Agatha to Shopify.
• Generating SEO-friendly written blog drafts from merchant-provided article titles or prompts.
• Saving generated drafts, metadata, excerpts, FAQs, and schema-ready content to Shopify Blog.
• Processing usage-based billing through Shopify.
• Monitoring app performance, diagnosing errors, preventing abuse, and supporting merchants.
• Improving app reliability, output quality, and user experience.

AI Processing

To generate blog draft content, Agatha may send merchant-provided article titles, prompts, and relevant generated text instructions to an AI service provider. We use this processing to create the written draft requested by the merchant.

Merchants should avoid entering sensitive personal information, confidential customer data, payment information, or information that is not needed for blog draft generation.

Service Providers

We may share information with trusted service providers only to the extent necessary to operate Agatha. These may include:

• Shopify, for app installation, authentication, billing, and Shopify Blog draft creation.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers, such as Vercel.
• Database and storage providers, such as Supabase.
• AI service providers used to generate blog draft content.
• Operational tools used for logging, debugging, security, and support.

We do not sell merchant data.

Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Agatha, maintain app functionality, support merchants, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Merchants may uninstall Agatha from Shopify at any time. We also process Shopify’s required app compliance webhooks where applicable, including shop deletion or data redaction requests.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Agatha. Access to operational systems is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who need it to operate, maintain, or support the app.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure.

Merchant Rights and Requests

Subject to applicable law, merchants may request disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of personal information we hold about them. We will review and respond to requests in line with our legal obligations.

International Use

Agatha may be used by merchants outside Japan. Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using Agatha, merchants understand that information may be processed outside their country of residence, subject to applicable law and provider safeguards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy on this page.
